Redefining Packaging with Design Aesthetics and Creative Unboxing as Art

100% Corrugated Paper × Functional Reinvention × Reusability — YUTO Design Redefines Packaging Value

Have you ever faced packaging dilemmas like these?

A beautifully designed rigid box that ends up being thrown away after opening, creating unnecessary waste. A plain, rigid packaging structure that dampens the unboxing experience. Or non-degradable plastic cushioning that makes eco-friendliness and practicality seem mutually exclusive.

At YUTO, we believe packaging should be more than just product protection — it should be a meaningful part of the consumer experience. Great packaging must balance functionality and aesthetics while contributing to environmental sustainability.

One-Piece Corrugated Wine Packaging

This wine packaging is built using a structure of intersecting diamond-shaped cutouts and trapezoidal 3D forms, creating a “showcase-style” effect. Made from a single sheet of corrugated board, the structure is assembled solely through precision die-cutting and folding — no glue or extra parts required.

An oval cutout at the top reveals the bottle cap, tightly secured at an angle, drawing attention to the vibrant bottleneck and brand identity. When closed, the box resembles a wine cabinet; when opened, it unfolds like a blooming flower, automatically forming a triangular wine stand that both displays and protects the bottle. This design cleverly combines triangle-based structural mechanics with the cushioning characteristics of corrugated board, achieving a breakthrough in both aesthetics and functionality.

Twist-to-Open Towel Box

This towel packaging features a 180° rotating paper-hook lock mechanism that transforms the box from packaging into a bookshelf. Thoughtful sizing plays a key role: when closed, it’s a slim, handheld square; when opened, it perfectly fits A4 documents, making it a stylish file folder for books or paperwork. The paperboard material also makes it suitable for notes or sketching.

What’s more, the box is made entirely from biodegradable materials — compostable after use, or fully recyclable as wastepaper — completing a “product-to-nature” life cycle.

As a global leader in superior packaging solutions, YUTO has accumulated over 400 packaging design patents. The 2 packaging design not only a showcase of design innovation, but also a call to the industry for greener collaboration.

Our design philosophy remains clear:Use flat die-cuts to create dimensional, ever-changing box forms shaped by geometric intelligence. Extend a package’s life through functional reinvention. Last but not least, design isn’t the end — it’s the starting point of sustainability. Let’s shape a more creative and sustainable future together.
